With cars ranging from a Lamborghini Aventador to an Aston Martin One-77 and Brabus-tuned Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, the Dubai Police has assembled the most impressive fleet of police vehicles in the world.
So how can it top itself?
Why not get a Bugatti Veyron, the fastest production car in the world? Surely that is out of reach, even for the Dubai Police.
No, it isn’t. According to Motor Authority, there is now a Veyron in the Dubai Police motor pool.
Actually, the car decked out in green and white with flashing lights on it roof isn’t the record-holding Veyron Super Sport. It’s the standard Veyron, a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter producing W16 1,001 horsepower and 922 pound-feet of torque, and a top speed of “only” 253 mph.
Still, at over $1 million, this Veyron is one of the most-expensive police vehicles ever. Another is Dubai’s Aston One-77, which also tops $1 million.
While Ferrari 458 Italia and McLaren MP4-12C owners will cower in their garages at the site of the mighty Veyron, it won’t be used for actual police work. Like the other exotic cars owned by the Dubai Police, it will be used for promotional purposes only.
Officials think keeping these cars around is a good way to attract tourists, perhaps by demonstrating how quickly the police could shut down an illegal street race.
To top the Veyron, the Dubai Police will probably need a jet fighter, or maybe some kind of spacecraft.
