Conan O’Brien is covering Comic-Con in San Diego again this year, and is filming it with “CONAN360 VR.” To celebrate, he is giving away a limited number of Conan-branded Google Cardboard headsets to help fans experience it fully.
The comedian announced that he will air a week of live shows from the Spreckels Theatre in San Diego from Wednesday, July 20 to Sunday, July 24. His lineup includes interviews with the cast of Silicon Valley, the cast and creators of Game of Thrones, and the cast from the upcoming movie and fan favorite series Suicide Squad. Conan promised audiences plenty of surprise guests, to be announced during the event.
CONAN360 is an interactive experience that allows the viewers to watch Conan’s content online using a variety of virtual reality headsets. Conan announced that there would be four cameras this year, all filming in 3D. He assured viewers in the announcement, “You’ll feel like you’re right inside the theater with us, you’ll feel like you’re right inside us.”
Conan fans that do not have a VR headset do not need to worry, as the comedian has them covered. He is sending out a limited number of Google Cardboard headsets created specifically for the coverage to fans that request them on a first come, first serve basis. Conan endorses the “Conan Cardboard” saying, “they will let you watch all of our VR content from San Diego. This is state of the art cardboard.”
