The “2-in-1” feature means that this product has both tablet and laptop capabilities to meet a wide range of needs. It can be folded down into a flat position and used with a stylus for a true “tablet-like” feel.
You can purchase configurations of the laptop with hard drives ranging from 500GB to 1TB. There is also a 256GB solid state drive version available for $999.99. That might be the one to go for, but it’d be nice if there was a less expensive, 128GB model.
The Inspiron 13 7000 Series Special Edition has a 13-inch, 1080p touchscreen. Users will also receive 8GB of memory and a 5th generation Intel Core processor. The two 500GB hard drive configurations of the computer have an Intel Core i5 processor, while the 1TB and 256GB editions have Intel Core i7 processors.
For a few bucks more than the most affordable configuration, comsumers can purchase an Inspiron 13 7000 Series 2-in-1 Special Edition that comes with a Bluetooth speaker (priced at $799.99). It’s a somewhat odd configuration option for a system on a company website, but perhaps has a point given that 13-inch systems usually offer weak speakers.
In terms of connectivity, the product makes the grade. The Inspiron 13 7000 Series 2-in-1 Special Edition has a full size HDMI 1.4a, two USB 3.0 ports, and one 2.0 USB port.
In total, the convertible notebook weighs about 3.68 pounds, making it perfect for consumers who need a computer for traveling. Additionally, users won’t have to worry too much about wear and tear on this product. Dell has tested it in harsh short-term heat conditions, for instance, and the notebook can handle temperatures up to 149 degrees Fahrenheit.
On the whole, the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 Series seemings promising. We’ve enjoyed other Inspiron 7000 Series notebooks when we’ve reviewed them, but we’ll have to reserve final judgement until we receive this new model to take a closer look.
