Flash storage manufacturer SanDisk announced today that it has developed the Dual USB Drive with Type C connector to work seamlessly with Type C-ready devices. The new MacBook being prepared to launch in 2015 is rumored to have USB Type C connectors, according to 9to5Mac.
The Dual USB Drive with Type C connector has a normal 3.0 connector on one end and the new reversible Type C connector on the other, giving it maximum compatibility. SanDisk will debut the device with 32GB capacity to start, and it will work with the SanDisk Memory Zone app, which allows users to better manage their memory storage on their mobile device.
“With the rapidly increasing amount of content captured on mobile devices, we know that consumers want easy ways to manage it all,” said Dinesh Bahal, vice president of product marketing at SanDisk. “We are focused on delivering memory solutions designed to simplify the transfer process, while also providing expanded storage capacity so they can keep capturing and sharing great memories.”
SanDisk expects its Dual USB Drive with Type C connector to be available by the second quarter of 2015, and it will feature a two-year warranty.
