The winners of the 71st Annual Golden Globes have been announced, and 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle took home the top honors for Best Motion Picture – Drama, and Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical, respectively. On the television side, Brooklyn Nine-Nine won for Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical, and Breaking Bad won for Best Television Series – Drama.
Unlike some previous years, there was no one film that dominated the awards. Of the seven top categories – the two Best Motion Picture awards, Best Director, the two Best Actor (one for Comedy/Musical and one for Drama), and the two Best Actresses – only American Hustle won more than a single award.
Now the award season moves on to the Oscars, which announce their list of nominees on January 16. The winners will be announced live on March 2, 2014.
