Resident Evil Village is getting DLC and Re:Verse is finally coming

Resident Evil Village producer Tsuyoshi Kanda announced today that Resident Evil Re:Verse, the survival-horror title’s upcoming multiplayer mode, will release sometime in July on all supported platforms. The mode will be freely accessible to everyone who owns Resident Evil Village and will feature characters from across the franchise. Capcom also announced that due to player demand, DLC is in the works for Resident Evil Village, but did not provide any additional information or a release date.

Resident Evil Re:Verse - Teaser Trailer

In a single screenshot at the end of its Resident Evil E3 segment, Capcom revealed that it is in the process of making DLC for Resident Evil Village. No additional information was provided, but Capcom promised “more info later”. Development has just started working on the DLC, meaning it will likely be a while before fans hear anything else. Initial fan reaction appears to be positive.

Resident Evil Re:Verse was previously announced in January 2021. The mode allows players to compete in 6v6 death matches with a variety of characters from previous Resident Evil games. The mode will be available everywhere that Resident Evil Village can be played. Fan reaction to the initial announcement was very negative, with many fans saying they’d rather see a return of the Outbreak gameplay mode from previous titles, but Capcom appears to be pushing ahead with Re:Verse. The mode is launching to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise.

Resident Evil Re:Verse will be available on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Stadia, the same platforms as Resident Evil Village.

Resident Evil 4: how to solve the Cave Shrine puzzles
A series of symbols in a circle.

There are a lot more optional -- and mandatory -- moments of exploration available to plyers in the Resident Evil 4 remake. One of the best examples comes in Chapter 4 when you are given the ability to move about the lake freely on your boat. Whether you found it by accident or got stuck while going along the main path, you will eventually have to solve two Cave Shrine puzzles in order to get your hands on the Church Key you need to move the story forward. If you found the altar the key is held on, you are likely at a loss as to where to go or what to do. There aren't a ton of places around the lake you can visit, but you can save a lot of time by letting us navigate you to the correct spots and lead you through these Cave Shrine puzzles in Resident Evil 4.
How to find and solve the Small Cave Shrine

The first location you're going to is at the far northeast end of the lake and is called the Small Cave Shrine. Make your way inside and you will come across a panel with a circle of buttons with unique symbols. Your goal here is to figure out which symbols to press, and in what order, to unlock the way to the key item you need.

Where to get the Red9 in Resident Evil 4
Leon S. Kennedy shoots villagers in the Resident Evil 4 remake.

Anyone who played the original Resident Evil 4 back in the day knows that the unique Red9 handgun was one of the most powerful weapons you could get your hands on, and that hasn't really changed in Capcom's new remake. Though the red dot sight is no longer standard as it once was, the Red9 still hits nearly as hard as it did back then, so it's a worthy addition to your arsenal on any difficulty level. If you're looking to score this fan-favorite gun, you have two methods to do so, and we'll fill you in on the details here.
Where to Get the Red9
The Red9 can first be obtained near the beginning of Chapter 4. After a short trek, you'll gain access to another boat, which you can then use to navigate the lake and its surrounding waterways. When you're ready to get the Red9, set out toward the center of the lake to find a decrepit ship.

When you arrive at the decrepit ship, hop dock on the side and board it. There's a chest directly in front of you after you board, but it's not the one you're looking for. Grab what's inside and then walk out and veer to the left. The chest here contains the Red9.
