Previously seen at E3 2015, the Stealth 420X offers wireless transmission of both game and chat audio – a rarity for Xbox One gaming headsets.
The Stealth 420X connects to Xbox One consoles through a USB dongle, eliminating the need to attach a chat adapter to the platform’s controller. In-game audio is dynamically mixed with incoming chat for optimal balance, and users can further tweak audio settings by using control buttons located on the headset itself.
Turtle Beach’s latest release includes a Mic Monitoring feature, letting players hear their own voice over in-game audio in order to better modulate volume. The Stealth 420X accommodates single-player gaming by offering a removable mic, and its rechargeable battery lasts up to 15 hours on a single charge.
In addition to its Xbox One-specific features, the Stealth 420X is compatible with mobile devices via an included cable. The Stealth 420X follows up on Turtle Beach’s previous Xbox One headset, the Elite 800X, which also offers wireless functionality. An equivalent headset, the Elite 800, is compatible with the PlayStation 4 and PS3.
