How to Choose An Amazon Echo on Prime Day
One of the big selling points of the Amazon Echo is primarily the Alexa support, which means that you should probably already be within the Amazon/Alexa ecosystem before you take a plunge, or at least get a good sense of what it can do. Once you’ve done that, then the only thing left is to figure out what sort of use case you’re looking to fill since there are several Amazon Echo Products, and there can sometimes be a very small difference between them.
For example, the Echo Dot is a solid smart speaker, and is actually the one we consider the best Amazon Alexa smart speaker. That said, there are two generations you can snag right now, as well as a version with a clock. If you want something smaller and cuter, then the Amazon Echo Pop is a great solution, while the Echo Studio is a high-end smart speaker that’s really powerful. There are also the various Echo Show options that have a screen on them and are a great companion for the kitchen or even the bedroom for additional information.

Ironically enough, while Amazon makes Echo devices, they aren’t always on sale on Amazon, and even when they are, they might not actually be the best deal you can find, even on Prime Big Deal Days. That’s why a lot of what we do is scouring all the various retailers and looking at the deals they offer to try and find the cheapest we can. Of course, some folks may want to take advantage of subscriptions like Amazon Prime or My Best Buy Plus, so we do also try and offer a wide range of options from various retailers for you to check out.
At the end of the day, though, it’s all about finding you the deals that will give you the best bang for your buck, so we use our own experience and tools to figure out the best deals to put here.
