LG launched the X Power 2 at the end of February, but soon afterwards, the stunning LG G6 arrived and stole all the limelight. Little was said about the X Power 2 until the beginning of May, when the company announced its imminent arrival around the world. Interested in LG’s midrange Android phone with a massive battery? Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Price and availability

The X Power 2 will be released in May, and sold in North America first, before continuing out through selected countries in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Exact locations haven’t been announced yet, and the price will be set by those offering the phone locally. Additionally, LG says the name of the phone may vary, so if you’re outside the U.S., it may not be called the X Power 2.

Features and specification

As alluded to in its name, the X Power 2’s raison d’être is its enormous 4,500mAh battery, a nice bump from the original X Power’s 4,100mAh power pack. LG claims the X Power 2 can give you 26 hours of talktime, 18 hours of continuous video playback, 14 hours of GPS navigation, and 19 hours of web browsing. The company even boasts the phone was designed to last an entire weekend without the need to recharge. When it comes time for that, the X Power 2 will go from 0 to 50 percent in an hour, while a full recharge will take around two hours.

On the outside, the X Power 2 features a 5-megapixel camera above its 5.5-inch, 1,280 x 720 resolution display, while a 13-megapixel camera with a soft-LED flash sits around back. On the front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with gesture and face recognition to snap photos when they’re spotted. The IPS LCD screen improves on the X Power and offers brighter colors and better viewing angles. Improvements have also been made to the display’s outdoor visibility, and there is a blue light filter added into the software for use at nighttime.

The X Power 2 runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, something the original X Power still cannot say. An unnamed 1.5GHz octa-core processor and either 1.5GB or 2GB RAM run the show, with the 16GB of native storage augmented through the MicroSD card slot that takes up to 2TB cards.

The Vivo X200 Pro mini is the small phone of my dreams
Vivo X200 Pro Mini in pink.

There was once a time when the Sony Xperia Z Compact carried the bastion of pocketable powerhouses. But as consumer priorities shifted, especially here in the East, smaller phones quickly ran out of favor. Remember how quickly the iPhone “mini” vanished to pave the way for the Plus?

One might argue functional limitations are to blame. You need a large battery. The next-gen camera stack needs space. Yet, every so often, some brand pulls a rabbit out of the proverbial hat. This time, it’s the Chinese smartphone powerhouse Vivo.

What is Amazon Music: everything you need to know
An iPhone 14 displaying the Amazon Music app with a Dolby Atmos Music playlist, next to a set of Apple AirPods Max headphones.

When it comes to music streaming services, there’s definitely no shortage of options on the table. You’ve probably heard of services like Spotify and Apple Music, but what about Amazon Music? Available as part of an Amazon Prime subscription or as a standalone membership, Amazon Music gives you access to millions of songs, plus an immense library of podcasts, hi-res playback (for Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers) and Alexa compatibility for your mobile devices.

And much like its competition, Amazon Music continues to evolve and expand. Not to worry, though! We’ve put together this guide to teach you everything you need to know about Amazon Music. From pricing to offline downloads, we’ve got you covered!
What is Amazon Music?
Amazon Music is a music streaming service similar to Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, Tidal, and Deezer. It offers a library of more than 100 million songs and a wide range of popular podcasts to stream and download for offline listening, too. Similarly to its competitors, Amazon Music users have access to a massive amount of current and back-catalog songs and albums and can create their own playlists that can be shared. It also uses your listening habits to create recommendations: new artists, albums, curated playlists, podcasts, and more, to help you easily find something good to play. For the audiophiles out there, Amazon Music has plan tiers for hi-resolution lossless audio that it calls HD and Ultra HD (more on this below), which is important if you're considering Spotify, as it currently does not.
